This will be the second meeting of the group, which was formed in October 2013 to boost bilateral trade in the field of information and communication technology.
Communications and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad will lead the Indian delegation, while Yasuo Sakamoto, Vice Minister for Policy Coordination (International Affairs), will lead the the Japan team.
A Ministry official said the group will discuss projects in green technology, cyber security and use of ICT applications in social and economic field.
