Laying stress on promoting research work in pharmaceutical sector, Regional Director of WHO South East Asia, Poonam Khetrapal Singh said India needs to incorporate changes and innovate in the sector to address today's need.
In the changing scenario, no one model suits all therefore changes are needed, she said at the convocation ceremony of IIHMR University here.
"There is no one model that suits all. We have health services which are solely by the government, by the private sector and those which are a mix of the public and the private sector.
"In India, we would need to think of new ways in which the health care services are rendered, a release quoting her said.
"Research is essential to ensure the right mix of technologies to serve today's health needs. Our country needs to increase investment in research and also in the health care sector," she said.
In the 19th convocation ceremony, students were conferred degrees of MBA, Hospital and Health Management and Master of Public health.
