India wins two silver in Asian Beach Games
Press Trust of India Phuket India opened their medal account in the fourth Asian Beach Games with squash players Kush Kumar and Aparajitha Balamurugan bagging a bronze each on the fourth day of competitions here today.
Kumar and Aparajitha lost the men's and women's singles squash semifinals respectively to win a bronze each.
18-year-old Kumar lost to Yip Tsz Fung of Hong Kong, China 0-2 (6-7, 2-7) while Aparajitha, 20, also went down by an identical scoreline (4-7 6-7) to Tong Tsz Wing, also of Hong Kong.
India is also assured of at least a silver in the men's singles squash with Harinder Pal Singh Sandhu making it to the final after beating Muhammad Asim Khan of Pakistan 2-0 (7-1 7-1) in the other semifinal.
