A leader of All-India Sindhi Society (AISS) today demanded granting of Indian citizenship to the 35,000 community members who came to Madhya Pradesh from Pakistan.
"Around 35,000 Hindu Sindhis living in Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur and Gwalior districts should be given Indian citizenship," AISS' MP unit President J P Moolchandi said here.
Some applications of Sindhi refugees for Indian citizenship were pending since the last 15 years, he added.
In absence of citizenship, Sindhis in the State are living as refugees and facing hardship, Moolchandi added.
