Indian envoys to seven countries meet Nitish Kumar

Indian envoys to as many as seven countries, in west and central Asia, Africa and North America, today called on Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar at his official residence here.

According to an official release, those who met Kumar included the ambassadors to Bahrain, Ukraine, Mexico, Sudan, Kazakhstan and Senegal Alok Kumar Sinha, Manoj Kumar Bharti, Muktesh Kumar Pardeshi, Ravindra Prasad Jaiswal, Prabhat Kumar and Rajiv Kumar respectively.

High Commissioner to Namibia Kumar Tuhin was also among the diplomats who met the Chief Minister at 1, Anne Marg, the release said adding that the envoys, many of whom hail from Bihar, have toured various parts of the state as part of an endeavour to increase states' involvement in framing of foreign policy.

During their interaction, while Kumar apprised the envoys about various development works taking place in Bihar, the latter told him that the state's festivals and cuisine were popular in their respective countries of posting.

The envoys also shared with the Chief Minister their ideas about taking Bihar's development story forward, the release said.

Top offiials like Development Commissioner Shashi Shekhar Sharma and Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Chanchal Kumar were also present on the occasion.
