Indians bag silver in Asian GP

Indian archery men's recurve team today bagged a silver medal to conclude their campaign at the Asian Grand Prix II Leg in Chinese Taipei on a high.
According to information received here, the men's trio of Sanjay Boro, Dhaniram Basumatary and Atul Verma lost to Korea 0-6 in the final.
The Archery Association of India had fielded a second string side for the meet.
Korean team of Bonchan Ku, Jin Hyek Oh and Woojin Kim, who got the top billing in the qualification round, put up a clinical show in the final as they fired three perfect 10s and three 9s for 57 points out of a possible 60.

The Indian trio also shot three perfect 10s, but a poor seventh and eighth in the fourth and sixth arrows, respectively, let them down as they trailed 0-2 following the first end after logging 54.
The Koreans, on the other hand, were a picture of consistency as they once again logged 57 compared to 53 by the Indians to extend a 4-0 lead.
With no fight back from the Indians, the Koreans wrapped the issue 6-0 in the third end with a 56-54 margin.
Ranked sixth in the qualification round, India had defeated Iran 6-2 in the last 16 stage, hosts Chinese Taipei B 5-1 in the quarters and Japan 6-2 in the semifinals.
