Indigenous Games festival begins in Mizoram

Three-day Indigenous Games Festival, the first of its kind in the country, organised jointly by Doordarshan and the Mizoram State Sports Council was inaugurated by the state governor Lt. General Nirbhay Sharma at the Brigade playground here today.
The three-day festival would be telecast live by the DD Sports channel nation-wide and would also be held in Imphal, Shillong and other places across the country.
37 Young Mizo Association (YMA) branches will participate in the games in which they would compete in seven traditional Mizo games.
