Dealing with the subject of cross-border terrorism in films is Kabir Khan's forte and the director says India-Pakistan relationship as a backdrop makes a movie larger than life.
"I try to do human stories in my films. But I try to put a real context, and real political backdrop to my films which makes the storytelling larger than life," he told reporters here.
The filmmaker, whose upcoming Salman Khan starrer "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" releases Friday, said he centred the movie around India and Pakistan because he wanted to weave in the political situation between the two countries.
"The story could have been about a little kid lost in Mumbai and trying to find a house. But the moment you put the backdrop of India-Pakistan, it just becomes larger than life... Our political situation is dominated by India-Pakistan relationship. So that keeps finding ways in my films," he said.
Besides Salman, "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Nawazuddin Siddique and child actor Harshaali Malthotra.
This is the second time Kabir is teaming up with Salman after 2012 blockbuster "Ek Tha Tiger", which revolved around an Indian spy (RAW) who falls in love with a Pakistani ISI agent, played by Katrina Kaif.
