The man, hailing from Keezhanatham village, had approached the inspector Sonamuthu to take action on his complaint for which the latter demanded a bribe, DVAC officials here said.
The farmer then filed a complaint with DVAC officials.
A team of officials then set a trap and gave chemically smeared currency notes valued at Rs 5,000 to the farmer to be handed over to the inspector.
He was caught red handed by DVAC officials while receiving the bribe amount.
