Inter-state gang of auto lifters busted, two held

The Chandigarh Police today claimed to have busted an inter-state gang of auto lifters with the arrest of two of its members.
On specific inputs, two gang members -- Sanjay Kumar and Satpal -- were nabbed yesterday from the Sector-26 area by the special investigation team of police.
The gang members were stopped at a check post and they failed to produce valid documents of the car in which they were travelling.
On questioning, the investigation team found that the car had been stolen from Grain Market in the Sector 26 area here.
During interrogation, both the accused disclosed that they had stolen a number of two and four wheelers from various parts of Haryana, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh.

Some of the stolen vehicles were also recovered from them, police added.
