All the five persons belonged to Jalore district of Rajasthan and were working at different shops as salesman in the city, owned by Marwaris from Rajasthan, Vijayawada Police Commissioner A B Venkateswara Rao told reporters.
The accused were identified as Rajpurohit Narapatlal (32), Rajpurohit Ashok Kumar (28), Rajpurohit Vikram Singh (26), Rajpurohit Narendra Singh (24) and Rajpurohit Jalam Singh (32).
The senior officer said that the gang only robbed houses of people who hailed from Rajasthan here, adding that they also housebroke for robbery in Jalore and Barmer districts in Rajasthan, in Mumbai and Bangolore.
A total of 710 grams of gold and four-kg silver valuing Rs 22 lakh was recovered from them, police said.
