Inter-state robbery gang busted in Ganjam district

Police today claimed to have busted an inter-state gang of robbers from Dasanapalli in Aska area of Odisha's Ganjam district by arresting nine persons.

The gang members, arrested late yesterday night while they were preparing for a major crime, were involved in several robbery cases in different places of Odisha and neighbouring West Bengal, said Inspector In-Charge of Aska police station, Santosh Kumar Jena.

A country-made gun, three bombs, two swords and a motorcycle were seized from their possession, he said.

We are verifying their involvement in a number of cases in Odisha and outside the state, said Jena.
