Chief Commissioner Sandeep M Bhatnagar delivering the keynote address spoke about data analysis for effective border management and focused the initiative launched by Hyderabad Zone in the form of 'Mission Zero'.
The initiative, which has opened new vistas in service delivery (by very quick disposal of refund, rebate and drawback claims) by the customs, central excise and service tax, is now being emulated in the rest of country, stated an official release.
Bankey Behari Agrawal, Principal Commissioner of Customs, spoke about the significance of the occasion for Customs the world over.
On the occasion, the Customs department also honoured the leading importers and exporters for their performance.
Additional Commissioner of Customs M Murali Krishna also spoke, the release added.
