According to Inteva President, CEO and Founder Lon Offenbacher, the Centre of Expertise will house advanced engineering support, design and development, durability testing and functional testing teams.
Offenbacher said the idea behind the Bengaluru Inteva Centre is to expand the company's technical capabilities and footprints in the southern region of India.
The teams,he explained, would be focusing on developing and launching advanced technologies in roof systems, closures, and motors and electronics for Inteva's global customers in close coordination with global design centres.
The head count is expected to be around 260-300 by year-end.
Currently, Inteva India's turnover is USD 25-30 million and is expected to ramp up to 100 million. Globally, it is USD 2.8 billion and is expected to reach USD 4 billion in the next five years, according to a company release issued here.
Offenbacher said the company's earlier investments made in its Pune facility had seen Inteva successfully announce several new projects for side door latches, window lift systems and motors as a tier I supplier for customers such as Ford, Tata, Mahindra and VW.
