Nearly two years of Iran-IAEA meetings have made little progress on launching the investigation by the UN's International Atomic Energy Agency. Iran denies working to develop nuclear weapons.
But chances of forward movement at today's round appear bolstered after Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announced a new initiative from his country.
Araghchi, who met IAEA chief Yukiya Amano Monday, gave no details of the Iranian proposal. Teheran denies working on or interest in atomic weapons.
