IRDP officer trapped by Anti-Corruption Bureau for graft

An officer of the Integrated Rural Development Project (IRDP) from Jawhar who allegedly demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs 50,000 from a contractor was trapped by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials, ACB sources said here today.
The Thane Division stated in an official release issued here today evening that the project officer who is of the rank of a deputy collector, Abhimanyu Magar (49) had allegedly demanded Rs 75,000 from contractor Sandeep Rajput for awarding him a work order.
The aggrieved contractor lodged a complaint with Thane Division ACB which laid a trap and nabbed Deven Ambire of the Zaap Ashram school accepting money this afternoon at Sunset Resort, on behalf of the project officer, the ACB said.

Both the accused have been arrested and charged under Section 7, Section 12, Section 13(1)(d) and Section 13 (2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, the ACB official stated, adding that an offence has been registered with the Jawhar police station.
