The Indian School of Business will start a one-year programme in public policy in 2015 to help government officials and private sector executives have a better understanding about public policy-related issues.
The masters programme would be offered by Bharti Institute of Public Policy at the ISB, which has campuses in Hyderabad and Mohali.
The one-year programme, dedicated to public policy, would be open to senior government officers and private sector executives, according to Pradeep Singh, who is Deputy Dean and CEO of ISB's Mohali campus.
"It (the programme) has been approved by the government and would be delivered by the ISB... Government will nominate officers to come and attend the programme. We hope to start that programme next year," Singh told PTI.
Those pursuing this programme do not have to take a break from their employment.
It is structured to target mid and senior level people who would benefit from acquiring useful skill-sets while facilitating cross border and cross cultural knowledge exchange between the private and public sectors.
There would be both classroom and online components in the course.
Entrepreneurs, members of multi-lateral entities and non-government organisations, among others, can also take up this programme.
A leading business school, ISB has four research institutes. They are Bharti Institute of Public Policy, Max Institute of Healthcare Management, Munjal Institute for Global Manufacturing and Punj Lloyd Institute of Infrastructure Management.
Earlier this week, the four institutes had also organised a national conclave that brought together people from industry, government and academia to discuss solutions for key sectors.
