A division bench of acting Chief Justice V M Sahai and Justice R P Dholaria, which was hearing a public interest litigation, asked the government to issue the notification by November 26.
The earlier notification in this regard covered "life- saving" and "cosmetic drugs", while the new notifications will also include the "essential drugs" category.
