ITI student run over by bus

A 20-year-old ITI student was
reportedly crushed to death and another was seriously injured, when they fell under the rear wheel of a private bus near Kuttayur in the district today.
The incident took place when Saddam Hussain was on his way to the institute in Mettupalayam, some 40 Kms from here, along with his friend on a two-wheeler, police said today.
When the bus took a sharp left turn at Kuttayur near Kadamadai, it knocked down the two-wheeler and the duo slipped from it and came under the rear wheel of the bus, resulting in the death of Saddam, they added.
Meanwhile, Santhanakakumar was rushed to the Government hospital here for treatment.
