J&K cricketer Bandeep hits fastest 50 in Ranji Trophy history

Young Jammu and Kashmir right-hand batsman Bandeep Singh quietly entered the record books of Indian cricket hitting the fastest 50 in the history of Ranji Trophy achieving the landmark in only 15 balls against Tripura in a group C encounter.
It happened on the third day of the Ranji Trophy match at Agartala where Bandeep blasted to an unbeaten 51 off 16 balls with the half-century coming off only 15 balls.
The record was jointly held by Himachal Pradesh' Shakti Singh (1990-91) and Baroda's Yusuf Pathan (2012-13), who achieved the feat in 18 balls.
In fact, Bandeep, who is known for his defensive technique and a career strike-rate of shade less than 40 launched into slow medium pacer Rajib Haradhan Saha hitting him for 22 in one over. In all he hit six boundaries and four sixes in his innings.

The match today ended in a draw with Jammu and Kashmir getting three points from the match.
