The Jammu and Kashmir government today said that it is determined to put the state back on the path of peace, progress and prosperity with accountability and transparency.
"The Government is, with the spirited support of all its instruments, firm in its resolve to put the state back on the path of peace, progress and prosperity with accountability, transparency and good governance being the fundamental inputs for its functioning," State Education Minister Naeem Akhtar quoted Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed as saying at a cabinet meeting here.
Akhtar, who is also the government spokesman, said Sayeed in his opening remarks made it clear that the state cabinet represents the diversity and the composite culture of Jammu and Kashmir, and with the active support of the administration, the Government has started confronting these enormous and intricate challenges with great maturity and political sagacity.
"We are committed and will play our role in the protection and promotion of the political, economic and social well-being of our citizens," the Chief Minister said.
The Chief Minister told his cabinet colleagues that while he is not inclined much towards making frequent changes in the administration, sometimes such exercises are imperative in the larger interest of the effective delivery of governance so that the right person is placed at the right place and do away with stagnation at various levels.
Hailing the administration for having got fully involved in infusing new life in governance and systems of delivery, the Chief Minister said while the political executive frames the broader policy guidelines, it is the administration that has to ultimately take the process to its logical conclusion so that the people can reap the benefits of the Government's welfare measures.
