All the major demands of the refugees have been incorporated in the package, Minister of State for Revenue Ajaz Khan said today.
Khan conveyed this to a delegation of refugees, who demanded quota in government jobs and professional colleges, compensation against land deficiency as per market value, conferring of ownership rights/tenancy rights on land allotted to Chamb refugees and disposal of pending applications for compensation.
The Minister informed the delegation that these issues have already been brought to the notice of sate Congress chief Saif-ud-Din Soz and it has been decided that a comprehensive package shall be prepared and submitted to the Centre with the approval of the state cabinet.
Congress had promised the refugees that they will get a central package for their rehabilitation in Jammu region.
