Inspector General of Police, Kashmir, Abdul Ghani Mir issued the orders yesterday, a police spokesman said.
The IGP congratulated the officers and their families on the promotions and asked them to work with more dedication and devotion for the welfare of the people, the spokesman said.
Mir told the officers that the promotions brought more responsibilities on their shoulders and they should work tirelessly to meet the expectations of people and the department.
On April 25, Departmental Promotion Committee had cleared the promotion of 140 Assistant Sub-Inspectors to the rank of Sub-Inspectors, he said.
