J-K relief holder, officials booked for fraud in Jammu

A man, who fraudulently drew relief and ration from the State Relief and Rehabilitation Department for a non-existent person, has been booked along with some department officials by the Jammu Crime Branch.
An FIR has been registered against Bharat Bhushan Bhat and officials of Relief Department by the Jammu Crime Branch.
Bharat Bhushan Bhat registered as a migrant in zone Bakshi Nagar-C under relief category had fraudulently drawn relief and ration for a non-existent person from 1990 by preparing fake documents in connivance with the Zonal Officers manning the region since 1990, according to Assistant Commissioner (Relief) Relief Organisation (M), Jammu.

The fraud led to a loss of Rs 2,37,013 to the state exchequer, an official said.
Accordingly, a case was registered by the Crime Branch, Jammu and further investigation has been taken up, he said.
