J&K Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today visited Delhi to inquire about the health of the two Kashmiri truckers, who were severely injured in the petrol bomb attack in Udhampur last week.
The Chief Minister assured the victims his government's full support for their treatment and said that exemplary punishment will be given to those behind the attack, an official spokesman said here.
Zahid Ahmad (19) and Showkat Ahmad (35), residents of south Kashmir, were severely injured when allegedly a petrol bomb was hurled at their truck last week, in Udhampur.
The duo was flown to AIIMS in Delhi for better treatment on October 11.
The spokesman said that the Chief Minister was briefed by the doctors at the hospital about the victims' condition.
Both the patients have been shifted from the ICU to normal ward, he said, adding that Sayeed has asked the hospital to give the best possible care to the duo.
Six persons were arrested in connection with the attack which took place a day after independent MLA Sheikh Abdul Rashid hosted a beef party in the summer capital Srinagar after Supreme Court kept in abeyance for two months a High court order seeking implementation of beef ban in the state.
The attack also coincided with the recovery of three cow carcasses in Udhampur district.
