Paramount and Skydance Productions are pushing back the Kenneth Branagh directed film to the Martin Luther King Jr holiday on January 17, an increasingly lucrative movie-going weekend, the Hollywood Reporter said.
The film stars Chris Pine, who will play the iconic character created by the late Tom Clancy.
There's still no official word on whether Martin Scorsese's "The Wolf of Wall Street" will instead open over the Christmas corridor.
Based on former broker Jordan Belfort's best-selling memoir, the movie also stars Matthew McConaughey, Jonah Hill, Jean Dujardin, Rob Reiner, Kyle Chandler, Margot Robbie, Jon Bernthal, Cristin Milioti, PJ Byrne and Ethan Suplee.
