Jammu University to host global yoga meet from Feb 21

Jammu University is set to host a two-day global conference on Yoga and meditation from February 21 here. "The University of Jammu is organising World Yoga Conference from February 21 to February 23," said Vinay Thusoo, Jammu University's Public Relations Officer. J&K Governor and the university's Chancellor N N Vohra will be the chief guest at the conference, he added. The conference will be on the theme 'Global peace and harmony through holistic approach of Yoga and meditation' and is likely to be presided by university's Vice Chancellor Mohan Paul Singh Ishar. Professor Swatantra Kumar, vice-chancellor of Gurukul Kangri University in Haridwar, will be the guest of honour while Lee Halina Majewski, a yoga scholar from Canada, has been invited as a special guest. The keynote address would be delivered by acclaimed Yoga teacher and Padma Shri recipient, Bharat Bhushan.
