The 25-year-old singer, while confirming the split, said he and Sparks are fine with the situation and there is no bad blood between them, reported Us magazine.
"Everything is cool man. It's not a bad situation, it's not one of those kinds of things," he said.
The former couple apparently split because of work commitment and pressure. "They are both upset. It just wasn't working. It was a lot of travel and hard to work with their schedules," a source said.
Sparks, 24, and Derulo were last spotted at the end of August when they attended the MTV Video Music Awards together.
