The CBI has charge-sheeted 51 people for alleged rioting at the residence and office of Haryana minister Abhimanyu Singh during protests to demand reservation for the Jat community in February 2016, officials said today.
The agency charged the accused with criminal conspiracy, rioting, sedition, house trespass, attempt to murder, dacoity, assault etc., for the attack on the residence and office of the Haryana finance minister in Sector 14, Rohtak, during the agitation on February 19 and 20, 2016, a CBI spokesperson said here.
He said it was also alleged that the accused vandalised Singh's house and set it on fire.
The accused also made an attempt to kill the family members of the minister present in the house, he alleged.
The agency said a loss of around Rs 14 crore was caused during to the attack.
