Karunanidhi, accompanied by senior party leaders, including General Secretary K Anbazhagan RPT K Anbazhagan, treasurer M K Stalin and grandnephew Dayanidhi Maran, among others, paid floral tributes to Annadurai.
A Dravidian veteran and founder of DMK, Annadurai was instrumental in leading the first non-Congress government in Tamil Nadu in post-independence India in 1967.
