JD(U) president Sharad Yadav took the decision to suspend MLA Chhedi Paswan, the party's spokesperson K C Tyagi said.
Paswan, who represents Mohania constituency in Kaimur district of Bihar, has been critical of Kumar since long.
He reportedly offered to join BJP in his meeting with Modi.
