In a bid to pay tribute to the contribution of veteran actor Jeetendra to the film industry, a hand impression of him will be unveiled here next week.
On December 18, a function will be organised by UTV Stars under 'Walk of the Stars' initiative, to pay an ode to Jeetendra by unveiling his hand impression to immortalise his legacy and create a landmark that his fans can cherish.
The tile bearing his hand print will later be installed at 'Walk of the Stars' promenade in Bandra.
Jeetendra's acting career spanned from the 1960s to 1990s. He was frequently paired with Sridevi and Jaya Prada for remakes of South Indian films. His hit movies include 'Parichay', 'Dharam Veer', 'Caravan', 'Khushboo' and 'Himmatwala'.
'Walk of the Stars' is a recognition of the invaluable contribution made to the Indian cinema by legendary actors.
As of now, there are 14 hand impressions of celebrities like Randhir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Sridevi, Sharmila Tagore, Manoj Kumar, Shabana Azmi, Anil Kapoor, Karishma Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Anupam Kher, Shashi Kapoor and Asha Parekh.
With the launch of Rajesh Khanna's statue earlier this year, there are total five statues including that of Raj Kapoor, Shammi Kapoor, Dev Anand and Yash Chopra.
