Both the actresses were unknowingly booked into the first class cabin of the same British Airways flight from LAX to London Heathrow on Sunday, reported Us magazine.
An employee realised the flight may be awkward since Aniston, 44, was once married to Jolie's partner Brad Pitt and informed the "Friends" actress's team about the situation.
Aniston's schedule was subsequently changed and she left LA on Monday instead, although her management did not tell her the reason behind the switch.
Aniston is in London to promote her new movie "We're the Millers".
