The chairman of the once-dreaded militant outfit Dima Hasao Daogah-Jewel/'Black Widow' was held in connection with a case registered in Langting police station of Dima Hasao district of Assam over the murder of former DHD (Dilip Nunisa faction) ultra, Bijon Haflongbar.
Garlosa was taken into custody from his Kahilipara residence within hours of a delegation of BJP members of NC Hills Autonomous Council calling on Governor PB Acharya to stake their claim to form the Council.
Jewel was one of the nine Council members who joined BJP on Friday, reducing the ruling Congress to a minority in the Council.
He was elected to the NC Hills Autonomous District Council in May, 2013, as an Independent candidate.
