"The state government is committed for security of women and their empowerment. Himmat App, which the Delhi Police has launched in Delhi, will be introduced in Jharkhand," Chief Minister Raghubar Das said in the state Assembly today.
He was replying to a query from BJP MLA Radhakrishna Kishore on what measures the state was taking to protect women in the background of atrocities against them, which was on the rise between 2012 and 2014.
The Jharkhand Chief Minister also said plans were afoot to raise the strength of women in the police department to 30 per cent and setting up women police stations in every district.
In order to create awareness on security-related issues in all schools, Das also said a woman official would be appointed as liaison officer.
