Speaker Dinesh Oraon led the obituary reference as all the members expressed grief at the passing away of Sangma.
The House adjourned after paying tributes to the 68-year-old leader.
In a separate condolence message, Chief Minister Raghubar Das said Sangma was a distinguished leader and the void he left would be felt.
Former Chief Minister Arjun Munda said Sangma had made himself popular as Lok Sabha Speaker.
Former Chief Ministers Shibu Soren, Hemant Soren and Babulal Marandi also condoled the death.
