The development came following recent reports that Dubey had levelled corruption charges against Soren but there was no official word on the reason behind the dismissal.
"The chief minister sent the recommendation to Governor Syed Ahmed requesting him to dismiss the minister. The governor gave his approval," an official in the Raj Bhavan said.
"It was only a one-line recommendation to dismiss him," he said when asked whether the chief minister mentioned any reason for the dismissal.
Dubey's recent statement in Bokaro in which he levelled charges of corruption against Soren might have been the reason for the decision, said a Congress leader, preferring anonymity.
