Jilted lover attacks college student with knife, absconds

A 19-year-old girl student of an Arts and Science College sustained injuries on her wrist after she was allegedly attacked with a knife by her jilted lover in Oussudu near here today, police said.
She was immediately admitted to a hospital by the locals who heard the screams of the girl after the attack.
Police said that a case had been registered and the accused Ezhilarasan (19), hailing from neighbouring Iyyankuttipalayam who is also a student from the same college where the girl was pursuing her studies, was absconding after committing the crime.
The girl was returning home when the accused approached her. She continued to spurn him and the youth allegedly drew out a knife and attacked her on her wrist, police said.

The girl's condition was stable and a manhunt has been launched to trace Ezhilarasan, police said.
