The incident took place yesterday in Maharajpur area here when Satyakesh Paswan, a tempo driver by profession, took his 22-year-old lover Vandana to a field, where he allegedly shot at her before turning the gun on himself, SP (Rural) Surendra Tiwari said.
Police said their bodies have been sent for post-mortem and a country-made pistol recovered from the spot.
No complaint has been registered by either of their families, police said, adding that the matter is being probed.
