Minister of State in Prime Minister's Office, Jitendra Singh arrived here and waited in a long queue to cast his vote in the fifth and final phase of Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections today.
Talking to reporters outside a polling station here, the Minister said, "Seeing the level of confidence among people and the morale of our party workers one can make out how the enthusiastic voters have reached here in large numbers to cast their vote for the BJP."
He exuded confidence that people have come out in large numbers in support of BJP and this is going to be a turning point in the political history of Jammu and Kashmir.
Condemning yesterday's attack on BJP candidate from Nowshera constituency, Ravinder Raina, allegedly by People's Democratic Party (PDP) workers, Singh said, "If any such kind of violence takes place amid any democratic process then somewhere or the other we have still not learnt enough to follow the basic principles of democracy."
Taking a dig at political parties for their frustration, the Minister said, "all the political parties should condemn it and said that the reason behind this attack could be that other political parties envy the kind of support BJP is getting".
In reply to another question on recent killing of school children in a terror attack in Peshawar, Singh said a resolution was passed after Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke in the Lok Sabha. "It's good that all the political parties condemned terrorism promoting from the soil of Pakistan," he added.
