JK DGP reviews security of central jail in Srinagar

The DGP of Prisons department of Jammu and Kashmir today reviewed the security and management of the central jail here.
S K Mishra inspected the jail premises and interacted with inmates as well as the staff during his visit, an official spokesman said.
He also took stock of various training programmes going on in the jail.
Later, the official chaired a meeting with the Superintendent and other officers of the central jail during which a proposal pertaining to the security and management of the jail was submitted to him, the spokesman said.
The DGP asked the authorities concerned to ensure proper hygiene and availability of medical and other requisite facilities to the jail inmates round-the-clock as per provisions of the J&K Jail Manual, he added.
