"The Coordination Committee of Private Schools Associations (CCPSA) has decided to unanimously grant mass promotion to all of its students studying up to class seven in view of recent floods," a spokesman of the committee said in a statement.
He said the committee took the decision at a meeting of representatives of private schools, businessmen, teachers and parents.
"There was a great deal of apprehension among students and parents. On the insistence of parents and after thorough deliberation, all schools in the Valley have decided to give mass promotion to the students right from Nursery to Class Seven," the spokesman said.
The committee has asked all private schools to comply with the decision and promote the students in their respective institutes.
