JKNPP protests in support of NIT students in Jammu

Asserting that suppression by force is unacceptable, Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) today held a protest demonstration in support of the protesting NIT students here.

Who are holding protests at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, Panther party activists led by its chairman Harsh Dev Singh held the protest against the "indictment" of students in NIT Kashmir by an inquiry officer .
Singh alleged the probe report submitted to the State government on April 24 by the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Srinagar was "biased" and "prejudiced".
Deploring the alleged abused, assault of outstation students for upholding the sanctity of the tricolour, Singh said, "it was distressing that inquiry findings submitted to the government by the ADC, Srinagar, had reportedly indicted the out-station students for allegedly vitiating the atmosphere inside the NIT Srinagar campus."

Singh said that the "olive branch" extended by NIT-Srinagar authorities is unlikely to end the impasse until the students demand for hoisting the tricolour and permanent deployment of CRPF personnel on campus are accepted.
