JKSRTC has started a bus service from Srinagar to Kalakote (Rajouri district) via Mughal Road for facilitation of general public as it has been a demand from trading community and general commuters including locals of the area," an official spokesman said.
He said the service will operate from Lal Chowk, nerve centre of Srinagar, daily at 7 AM and have intermediary stops at Shopian, Peer Ki Gali, Bufliaz, Thanamandi, Rajouri, Dangri and Salsoo.
The construction of Moghal road had started during the previous Mufti Mohmmad Sayeed led PDP-Congress government in 2004 and is now traffic able.
Earlier in March, the PDP-led government asked the Centre to declare the historic road as a National Highway and proposed construction of several tunnels to make it all weather road.
