Highway 33 came to a grinding halt for several hours as JMM activists staged indefinite chakka jam at various places between Pardih to Baharagora in East Singhbhum district demanding immediate repair of the highway today.
Police has made preventive arrest taking several leaders into custody, but the blockade supporters were adamant to stage the agitation, which forced the police to use mild force to disperse them at Pardih under Mango poice station here.
Sub-divisional Officer (Ghatsila), Girija Shankar Prasad said the blockade has been lifted with over sixty activists were taken into custody in Ghatsila sub-divison.
