Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leader and former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren today met Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao here and discussed "national politics" with him.
Soren, who hasexpressed solidarity with Rao's proposal to forge a new political front in the country, met him at Pragati Bhavan, Rao's official residence complex-cum-camp office at Begumpet, here.
"They both had lunch together and later discussed national politics," an official release said.
Rao, also president of the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti, had recently met West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee at Kolkata to discuss plans for evolving a coalition of regional parties.
The TRS chief has alleged that successive governments ruled by both the Congress and BJP at the Centre have miserably failed to ensure the country's development.
Rao, popularly called KCR, recently said he would talk with like-minded parties and leaders for creating an agenda for the country's growth.
Soren had earlier extended support to Rao's suggestion that a non-Congress and non-BJP front should be formed in the country.
Calling for a "qualitative change" in politics, Rao had also announced that he was ready to take on the mantle of leading a political front.
Yesterday, he said that the alternative being proposed by him would be a "peoples front of India.
