Santosh Kumar Shrivastava (45) who was working as an editor of a weekly newspaper was found dead near a power plant and his motorcycle was also recovered near the spot, Kotwali police station in-charge, R P Mishra said.
He said prima facie it appears to be a well-planned murder and the body was thrown near the power plant to give it a different angle.
Shrivastava's mobile phone, camera and few papers in a burnt condition were also recovered from the site.
Police have taken into custody three persons for interrogation on the basis of suspicion.
