Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) today criticized the state government headed by chief minister Raghuvar Das for "breaking all records" in transfer-posting of bureaucrats and government officials in the state.
BJP had been criticizing the previous government headed by Hemant Soren over the transfer-posting of government officials and bureaucrats but it has broken all records on this count, former Jharkhand Agriculture Minister in the Soren-led Cabinet, Banna Gupta said.
The chief minister had promised to stop transfer - posting of officials, which was allegedly done in a whimsical manner by the previous government, but it had never taken place in such a large number and so frequently by the previous governments as is being done by the present government, which has not yet completed six months in power, Gupta alleged.
All these transfer-posting are being done in view of the forthcoming assembly poll in adjoining Bihar, Gupta said.
A few days ago, JMM working President and former Chief Minister Hemant Soren had made a similar allegation against the state government.
It was surprising that assembly poll would be held in Bihar but transfer-posting in large scale was being done in Jharkhand, Soren had told newsmen.
Gupta also smelt something foul in the purchase of sugar in the state.
Sugar was available at Rs 28 per kg in the market but the state government was purchasing it at Rs 35 per kg, the Congress leader claimed .
