Junior Engineer held accepting bribe

A Junior Engineer of Electricity department of Jharkhand was today arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) while accepting bribe from a person in Ghatsila sub-division.
Based on the complain registered by one Vimal Agarwal, a team of ACB officials conducted a raid and arrested the Junior Engineer, Md Rafique Alam, from Musaboni DVC sub-division, said Amar Kumar Pandey, Deputy Superintendent of Police of ACB.
Agarwal had applied with the department concerned for connection of electricity lines for his play school in Galudih and the Junior Engineer had demanded Rs 10,000 as bribe for the job, he said.
The deal, however, was finalised for Rs 4000.
The ACB officials caught him red-handed while accepting the cash, he added.
