Justice K N Basha new IPAB Chairman

Justice K N Basha, who recently retired as a Judge of Madras High Court, has been appointed as the Chairman of Intellectual Properties Appellate Tribunal by the Director of the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.
An appointment order was issued by the Ministry on August 23.
The post was held by Justice Prabha Sreedevan, who also retired as Madras High Court judge, and later retired from the post of Chairman of IPAB few weeks back.
Justice Basha, who studied in Madras Christian College, finished his law degree in Madras Law college.
Justice Basha started independent practice as a civil and criminal lawyer in 1985 and was appointed as a Judge in 2005 from where he retired in 2013.

The order of appointment as a Chairman of IPAB said the conditions of service shall be in accordance with the provisions of IPAB.
